I got this recipe many years ago in California and it's always been a great one!
2 cups buttermilk
6 tbsp shortening (I use butter)
2 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs slightly beaten
2 pkg yeast
Warm buttermilk, add ingredients in order given. Add enough flour to make a soft workable dough. Let stand 10 minutes in a warm place. Then roll out. Cut round rolls, stretch a bit util oblong and dip half in melted butter. Fold over and let raise 1 hour. Bake 10-12 min in 375 oven.
You can also shape different as you desire.
