2 cups buttermilk
6 tbsp shortening (butter)
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking powder
2 eggs slightly beaten
2 pkg yeast (1 pkg approx 2 1/4-1/2 tsp)
Warm buttermilk, add ingredients in order given. (I dissolve yeast in warm water before adding simply because I'm more comfortable doing this instead of adding dry yeast) Add enough flour to make a soft workable dough. Let stand 10 minutes in a warm place then roll out. Shape as desired. If rolling out and cutting into circles (or shaping into round balls), stretch until oblong and dip half in melted butter, fold over and let raise 1 hour. Bake 10-12 minutes at 375.
